eid_ka_chandThe crescent moon has been spotted in various time zones across the world, & Ramadan has begun! Which means it's also time for our annual Eid fanworks challenge. We are not running a sponsored challenge yet but are open to suggestions.
Eid-Al-Fitr will be celebrated across the world on or around 30 August 2011, depending on local moon sightings. Our challenge asks for fanworks (fic, art, vids, icons, meta, picspam &c.) that focus on a fictional Muslim character. They do not need to explicitly focus on Eid or Islam, and can be about cultural rather than religious Muslims.
The master list of fictional Muslim characters is a good place to start looking for fandoms.
We are once again running the fanfiction challenge this year on Archive of Our Own. You may post fanfiction of any length to the Eid 2011 collection.
