So I did a crappy thing during eid_fic. I took a canonically Hindu-background character, no matter how half-assedly portrayed as Hindu-background in canon, even if you can only really tell for sure that his background is Hindu from the extra-canonical casting call, and made him Muslim-background. I knew what was intended by the canon creators, and I didn't change the character's background for any insight or commentary, I changed it because it was inconvenient for me to have his background be Hindu instead of Muslim. That pretty much sucks. I'm not sure what to do about it except acknowledge that it was a shitty thing to do.
I wanted to write some fic for a canonically Muslim character, which I did not do during eid_fic., so here it is.
Here's a drabble series that's been in my head for a while, since the last time I reread The Shadow Speaker.
